Air Travel
Traveling by air to Europe from the United States can be a long trip. You want to make it yourself as comfortable
as possible. One rule in the air travel game is that the cheaper you want your tickets the less you will get. There is
no secret way to get very cheap tickets and cross the great pond. If your budget allows it, make sure you pick
a company that is offering a high quality service and reasonable fees. Air France-KLM and British Airways are two
excellent air travel services. The sooner you book your tickets the better. Some periods of the year can be
extremely busy, Summer for example. France alone receives over 70 million tourists a year, many of them Americans. The later you book your tickets the less chance you have. You get the seats no one wants, and the
flexibility that allows for no flexible flight dates. Try not to save too much money on your air travel needs. Air fares
have dropped considerably within Europe. It makes it viable for budget travelers to fly to other European states
instead of taking the train or renting a car. However, overall train travel is still cheaper than air travel.

European Car Rental
Europe offers a whole range of car rental companies. Cars are usually
rented for 24 hours. Rates can be quite high, however there are deals
that can save you a bit of cash - so look out for those. Driving through
Western Europe is safe and free. Some rental companies do not allow
you to drive the car to Eastern European countries, make sure you
check the terms of service to avoid issues. The main reason some of
the European car rental companies have this restriction is that the rate
of theft is very high in Eastern Europe. This is slowly changing however.

Accommodation
There are many options available to you when it comes to quality
accommodation. From historical castle hotels in France, to high-tech
hotels in Berlin. Remember that most hotels offer lower rates during
weekends. Some even cut their prices by 50%. Small privately owned
B&Bs in North Europe (Scandinavia) offer many facilities at very decent
rates. It's worth surfing the Internet for a while to compare deals.
